Governor Okowa’s Aide Sarah Smooth Doles Out Cash For Flood Victims In Enekorogha
In a bid to contribute her quota in alleviating the sufferings of flood victims in Burutu Local Government Area, Barr. Sarah Smooth, Special Assistant (SA) to Governor Okowa on the Girl Child Development in Delta State have recently dolled out #200,000,00 to assist flood victims in Enekorogha community. Barr. Sarah Smooth was represented by her lovely mother, Mrs Helen Smooth during the presentation of the cash to Rev. Matthew Ashaka, chairman of Enekorogha community in Burutu Local Government Area at the community.
While presenting the #200,000,00 cash to Rev. Matthew Ashaka, Chairman of the community at Enekorogha, Mrs Helen Smooth had noted that her daughter Barr. Sarah Smooth is highly touched and pained seeing how the flood have inflicted untold hardship to the people and their source of livelihood completely destroyed and their houses overtaken by the ravaging flood.
She continued that while this is a trying time for the community, Sarah Smooth could not keep quiet without doing anything about the situation hence she had released a token of cash to assist the people in this trying time, stressing that this is the little Barr. Sarah can do to sympathise with her people, praying that she is optimistic that the flood will soon recede.
In his swift reaction, Rev. Matthew Ashaka, Chairman of Enekorogha community who received the money on behalf of the flood victims in Enekorogha had particularly lauded Barr. Sarah Smooth for the kind gesture.
He noted that people like Sarah Smooth are very rare, stressing that for she to have remembered her people at this trying time shows that she is a good person, adding that Enekorogha community will never forget this kind gesture and will always pray for her to succeed in her future political endeavours.
He continued that the cash will go a long way in providing for the medical needs of the flood victims.
Chairman Ashaka expressed optimism that he is sure that in no distant time, Barr. Sarah Smooth will grow to become a political force to reckon with in Burutu Local Government Area and Delta State at large.
