24 House Of Reps Members Storm Gbaramatu Kingdom, Visit Tompolo, Discuss Issues

No fewer than 24 Federal House of Representatives members in Nigeria on Wednesday stormed Gbaramatu Kingdom to pay courtesy visit to High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo. The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report.

The House of Representatives members were led by Rt. Hon. Peter Akpatason, deputy leader of the House of Representatives.

At Oporoza, traditional headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, in his speech during the meeting, the deputy Leader, Hon. Akpatason had on behalf of the delegation lauded Tompolo and Tantita Security for their efforts so far in curbing oil theft in the region.

He noted that the partnership of Tompolo with the Federal Government of Nigeria, the navy and other military agencies have led to significant improvements the oil sector.

Speaking further, Hon. Peter added that the visit is to encourage Tompolo to continue to do more in safeguarding oil facilties in the Niger Delta region which will in return boost oil production.

In his words: “We are here because of your contributions in the Niger Delta region and how you have boosted oil production within the last few months.

“In the course of our journey to this place, we have visited oil facilties. We appreciate your role in the oil production and security.

“We have been very worried and concerned that some time ago, we have not been able to meet OPEC oil production projection for Nigeria.

“We are here to see how you, NNPC and security agencies have been securing oil facilties in the region.

“We are happy that your contribution and partnership have led to significant improvements in the oil and gas sector. We are here to appreciate you and encourage you to step it up. Your contributions have led to the improvement of the oil production in both land and sea.

“We have come to the realisation that when Indigenes are given the opportunity to safeguard oil facilties, it seems safer. We will continue to encourage every possible steps aimed at increasing our financial income in the country.

“Nigeria have over the years made it an harbit to borrow money to fund our budgets, this cannot continue, we are bothered about this. We have visited other Kings and key leaders in the region hence with the critical role you have played and still playing, we are here today to fraternize with you.” The deputy leader stated.

I will do my best for Nigeria, I will not disappoint you people – Tompolo

In a swift reaction, the present day grand commander of the Niger Delta struggle for self identity, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) had vowed that he will do his best in delivering fully on the job.

Tompolo promised that he will not disappoint the Federal Government of Nigeria and the lawmakers in his fight against oil theft.

On his part, Chairman of the Upstream Petroleum Sector have in his speech assured High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) that the lawmakers will ensure that he is given the necessary supports to succeed in the fight against oil theft.

According to him, Tompolo will be given the necessary legislative backing to ensure that security agencies continue to partner with him, stressing that they are impressed with his performance so far, adding that he should keep it up.

Tompolo’s Tantita Security Services Is Doing A Great Job – Pondi

However, Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, House of Representatives stated that the decision taken by the Federal Government of Nigeria to award the pipeline surveillance contract to Tompolo is one of the best decisions so far.

According to him, prior to now, the entire riverine communities in the region have been heavily polluted by oil theft.

Pondi while lauding Tompolo for an excellent job so far had wondered how the Niger Delta leader was able to deal with the age long menace of oil theft in the region via Tantita Security services within just few months of operations .

The revered Burutu Federal lawmaker asserted that Tompolo is not only boosting oil production of Nigeria but also rescuing the Niger Delta environment from environmental degradation.

Speaking further, Hon. Julius Pondi had commended the Nigerian Navy for partnering with Tompolo in curbing oil theft in the region, stressing that other military agencies deserved to be commended for their role so far.
