In line with his commitment to free and improved access to quality education, the member representing Warri South West State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. GUWOR Emomotimi Dennis earlier on Wednesday gave out another tranche of free JAMB forms to over 400 students in his constituency seeking admission into tertiary institutions in the country. It was spearheaded by the Hon. GUWOR Emomotimi Dennis (GED) Foundation, the gesture is part of the member’s Star Scholarship Programme which has so far benefited over 1500 students in the last 3 years. Speaking to the students, wife of the Honourable member, Mrs. Guwor Timi who also doubled as the chairperson of the occasion used the opportunity to admonished the students to take the programme seriously as its envisage greater benefits for them in the future. She also spoke passionately and extensively about the education of the girl-child and females in STEM especially in the riverine communities. Mrs Guwor later handed over the scholarship packs to the benefiting students on behalf of her husband. Mrs. Guwor Timi has been a formidable part of the programme team since inception and handle mathematics tutorial for the students — a great inspiration. Engr. Ebikonde Victor Sokoto, Legislative Assistant to the member who also spoke to the media on the benefits of the programme elucidated that the free JAMB package beyond the purchase of the form for the students also has a preparatory component which provides tutorials for the students and stipends to ensure that they come out with flying colours in the exams. Sokoto further encouraged the students to take the gesture seriously to ensure that become part of GED Star Fellows while they gain admission into the University and to make them benefits from the full scholarship.Hon. Jonathan SAWARE, Councilor representing Diebiri spoke on behalf of the 20 Ward Councillors in the Constituency expressed his delight on the impact of the programme since its conception and further thank the member for sustaining the momentum. Parents and Students alike expressed their delight for the gesture and thank you Honourable member for his exemplary service to the Constituency over the past years and further acknowledged that these notable impact is worthy of continuity.
