The NationWide League Secretariat has confirmed the participation of the newly-established Jude Gbaboyor Football Academy in the second division of the 2023 season.

The Academy, based in the coastal community of Isaba in Warri South West local government area of Delta State, acquired the slot previously occupied by Baseline United football club, in the State of the Living Springs.

In a confirmation letter signed by the Chief Operating Officer of the NationWide League, Mr Olushola Ogunnowo, which was sighted by our reporter, all the home matches of the Jude Gbaboyor Football Academy shall be played in Delta State, in compliance with the rules and regulations governing the league.

Addressing the media over the weekend, the President of the Academy, Engr. Jude Gbaboyor revealed that it was necessary to engage the players in the league, to sharpen their skills and make them more competitive in the football business world.

As at the time of filing this report, it was exclusively gathered that the Academy is hosting a tournament from where players who make the cut will be registered for the 2023 season.

The President of the Academy further enthused: “The influx of football enthusiasts, players and agents into the sleepy community of Isaba since the birth of the Academy barely two months ago, is a pointer to better things to come”. He enjoined the players to be of good conduct, on and off the pitch.
