We the leadership of the Ijaw Youth Council, Western Zone (IYC) conveys our warmest congratulations to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on his inauguration as Governor of Delta State.
We charge H.E. Oborewori to hit the ground running because the expectations of Deltans are high, particularly the Ijaw people. Our areas expect transformational governance in roads, schools, peace and restoration and resettlement. Therefore, Mr. Governor must prioritise our area’s development.
This is as a result to the fact that, his electoral victory as a Governor characterised the new order implying the new Sheriff in town. And of course with our economic contributions in the State, we deserve better. MAKE THE UKODO REACH IJAW PEOPLE!
As a sociocultural organisation we will keenly follow Mr. Governor’s governance and governmental approaches as it relates to bridging the gap of youth inclusion, tackling the pervasive underdevelopment of our riverine communities, such as abandoned projects and at the same time proffer a permanent political solution to the lingering crisis between the Aldaja and Ogbe-Ijoh people. Furthermore, we urge Mr. Governor to collaborate with the Federal Government to address the challenges facing the Nigerian maritime University Okerenkoko.
We wish Mr. Governor and his Deputy the best of service for the State and also pray for God to grant the team the improved wisdom, divine ideas, vigour and good health to pilot the affairs of the State for the overall good of all Deltans.
