Lokpobiri Storms Lagos, Gets Rowdy Welcome, Meets Airpeace Boss, Promises Better IYC

The President general of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide popularly known as the crown prince of Ijaw Nation, Sir, Jonathan Lokpobiri on Friday visited Lagos in a bid to resolve some minor issues in Lagos Chapter.

It was like a drama, fanfare and massive jubilation yesterday as sons and daughters of Ijaw nation in Lagos filed out in their numbers under the leadership of Tikima Arighan as they gave President Jonathan and other national officers a rowsy welcome.

The dance procession and highly Ijaw spiritual songs from the Lagos Ijaw drummers and dancers were second to none and President Jonathan and other national officers of the 9th NEC were entertained to the brim.

In his speech, President Jonathan Lokpobiri had assured Lagos Chapter of getting whatever that is due them from Council under his leadership, stressing that his reign will signal a new beginning in Council.

Speaking further, Lokpobiri had admonished the leadership of Lagos Chapter to always be united, stressing that the Lagos Chapter of council should and must be united at all cost.

He continued that the 9th NEC will stop at nothing other than providing responsible leadership to the Ijaw people that will bring about meaningful development to the Ijaws.

Earlier, President Jonathan Lokpobiri visited his former boss, Chief Allen Ifechukwu Onyema (CON), Chief Executive Officer of Airpeace to discuss critical issues in Nigeria, Niger Delta and the way forward for Council.

Other national officers that were present include Comr. Freedom Atigbi, Deputy President of Council, Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill, Spokesman of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Amb. Bright Igelu, Assistant Secretary of Council.

The Lagos Chapter leadership led by its Chairman, Comr. Arighan Tikima and his Exco were present.
