Deputy President of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Comr. Freedom Atigbi has stated that Council will partner with relevant agencies, commisions and critical stakeholders in Nigeria and beyond to drive the developmental process of Ijaw Nation. The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report.

The deputy President of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Atigbi made the remark yesterday during a courtesy visit to Hon. Spencer Okpoye, Commissioner representing Ijaw Ethnic Nationality in the Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC).

Speaking further, Freedom Atigbi noted that the Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri’s led national executive Council of IYC will do all it takes in ensuring that the Ijaw people takes their rightful place in the Nigerian State.

However, the Deputy President of Council had while congratulating Hon. Spencer Okpoye on his appointment as the commissioner representing the Ijaw Ethnic nationality in DESOPADEC had tasked him to leave behind legacies that will stand the test of time.

According to him, he said no position is too small to affect lives, stressing that it is very important for Ijaw sons and daughters occupying politcal offices to contribute towards the growth and development of council.

In his speech, Dr. Doubra Collins Okotete, Chairman IYC Western Zone had lauded Hon. Spencer Okpoye for the audience, adding that it is a sign that the commissioner truly understands the struggle of the Ijaw people.

Okotete had called on Spencer to activate plans together with other officials in DESOPADEC for the quick completion of the IYC Western Zone secretariat at Bomadi, adding that the project is very important to the Ijaw people.

In a swift response, Hon. Spencer Okpoye had promised that he will work closely with the Ijaw Youth Council in promoting it activities.

He continued that IYC is a body every sensible establishment or critical stakeholder would want to work with.

Meanwhile, Okpoye asserted that he will ensure that whatever that is due the Ijaw people gets to them.
