The people of Odimodi Community in Iduwini Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State have concluded plans to massively protest against the administration of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State over the alleged abandonment of the Ogulagha/Odimodi road project.

Comr. Solomon Gbegha, Chairman of Odimodi and its Federated Communities dropped the hint on behalf of the community via a telephone conversation with The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide.

According to him, Odimodi, an oil producing Community in Iduwini Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State is left with no other choice than to embark on the massive protest that may halt economic activities in the area.

Speaking further, Comr. Solomon Gbegha asserted that the community contributed to the victory of Governor Oborevwori and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP ) in the just concluded general elections, stressing that Odimodi has always supported the PDP right from time.

However, The Odimodi Community Chairman maintained that the community is also contributing to the economic viability of the state and Nigeria at large via the Forcados Terminal, adding that it is very sad that the Delta State Government is not doing anything to commence the Ogulagha/Odimodi road project.

Nevertheless, the Chairman while explaining more about the road project noted that the project was approved by the past administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, adding that the road is the only access road linking Ogulagha and Odimodi communities.

Chairman Ghegha continued that due to the bad condition of the road, it has become a death trap to commuters, stressing that it has led to so many accidents to Indigenes that have been plying the road.

Moreover, Solomon had also asserted that approving flyovers in Warri and other critical projects in other parts of the state without considering the Odimodi/Ogulagha road project is an aberration.

Meanwhile, Ghegha said the 100 days in office celebration by Governor Oborevwori is a sad moment for the Odimodi people as there is no tangible project for them to celebrate despite their economic status in the state.

Odimodi Community had particularly called on Governor Oborevwori to urgently mobilize the contractor handling the project to site as a stitch in time saves nine.
