December 11th: IYC To Massively Celebrate 25 Years Of Existence, Set Up Committees

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide has concluded plans to celebrate its 25 years silver jubilee as a movement of the Ijaw people for resource control and self determination in the Nigerian State.
This was contained in a public announcement personally signed by Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr, President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide yesterday.
However, President Jonathan Lokpobiri had particularly set up committees for the Kaiama Declaration Silver Jubilee celebration slated December 11th 2023.
It would be recalled that the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide came into existence via the Kaiama Declaration in December 11th 1998.

The under listed persons and institutions are hereby appointed and saddled with the responsibility of the planning and execution of the forthcoming 25th Anniversary of the Kaiama Declaration “Silver Jubilee” celebration.

Meanwhile, according to Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill, Spokesman of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide had explained that the programme is going to be interesting, stressing that it will be a new dawn for the Ijaw people.
Speaking further, Binebai asserted that the anticipated big event will feature lectures from leaders of Ijaw nation and beyond, freedom walk, drama presentation, award presentation to distinguished Ijaw leaders, musical display of Ijaw sons and daughters in the music industry, unveiling of the IYC global secretariat and what have you.
Nevertheless, Princewill had alerted all structures and other organs of council to be ready for the anticipated big event, stressing that more details regarding the programme will be made public as the days get closer.
