NEC Congratulates 6th Mobile Parliament, Says Principal Officers Highly Competent, Capable
The 9th National Executive Council of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide has congratulated the Rt. Hon. Gabriel Allen Tomoni (JP) led 6th Mobile Parliament of Council that was inaugurated at Akinma Town in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers state on Wednesday 13th of November 2024.
NEC and the entire Ijaw Youth Council is optimistic that the principal officers of parliament and the members of the 6th Mobile Parliament are all competent and highly experienced personalities that will no doubt work solely for the advancement of council bringing to bear their wealth of experience.
However, while the Ijaw nation is battling with barrages of issues bedeviling her in the Nigerian State, ranging from the cruel balkernization of the Ijaws, constitutional impediments on our development, age long underdevelopment of our communities, environmental damage by multinational oil companies, political manipulation and what have you. The Ijaw Youth Council more than ever at this critical point in time needs a stable and focused parliament to completement the efforts of the NEC in its bid to negotiate a better deal for the Ijaw people in the Nigerian State.
It is our firm believe that Rt. Hon. Gabriel Allen Tomoni (JP) led 6th Mobile Parliament will no doubt work closely with the NEC in confronting the darkest challenges of the Ijaw people in the Nigerian State.
Nevertheless, the 9th NEC wishes to congratulate the immediate past speaker of the 5th Mobile Parliament of Council, Rt. Hon. Bob Collins Igetei who demonstrated uncommon and unwavering leadership with his position as Speaker of parliament. To us, he is an epitome of unity and a progressive leader.
He has no doubt written his name in gold in the annals of council owing to his modest contributions and firm position in moving council forward, the Ijaw Youth Council is proud of Igetei and the entire 5th Mobile Parliament for their determination and result oriented leadership.
It is our admonition that the 6th Mobile Parliament led by a tested and trusted leader in Council, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Allen Tomoni (JP) will emulate the leadership virtues of the 5th Mobile Parliament led by Igetei as the parliament is a very key and critical organ of council. The NEC is ready to foster a symbiotic relationship with the Parliament as usual.
Once again congratulations to Rt. Hon Gabriel Tomoni Allen – Speaker, Collins Oduduba Okpako – Deputy Speaker, Ayoromiegha Williams Welemu junior – Clerk, Lucky Agah – Deputy clerk, Godspower Charles – Chief whip,
Ngere Darius Polycarp – Sergeant -at-arms and the entire distinguished parliamentarians of the 6th Mobile Parliament.
