Don’t Be Distracted In Your Good Work To Ijaw People, Takeme Tells Okowa
Delta State Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has been admonished not to be distracted in entrenching more dividends of democracy to the Ijaw speaking people of Delta State.
Immediate past Commissioner, Ministry of Urban Renewal, Chief (Dr) Julius Takeme, gave this admonition while reacting to a statement credited to a political leader from his Burutu local government area of the state.
He noted that the recent outburst by a political leader in Burutu local government area was unfortunate, saying, he must have spoken in anger and out of frustration.
“I believed the man spoke in anger and out of frustration. The statements were unwarranted, uncalled for and malicious. There is the need for leaders to be conscious on statements they make publicly. Even Okowa’s worst critics can testify that the man has done well as governor of Delta State”, he added.
Commending Okowa for his commitment in spreading development to all parts of the state, Chief Takeme noted that efforts of Dr. Okowa to right the wrong of the past, especially as it affects the riverine communities in the state particularly Burutu local government area must be appreciated by all.
