The latest disagreement also involved their elder brother, Jude, who previously managed P-Square
P-Square Reunion Uncertain as Family Rift Deepens, Elder Brother Says
The possibility of a lasting reconciliation between former P-Square members, Peter and Paul Okoye, remains uncertain, according to their eldest brother, Henry Okoye.
Henry expressed concern that the prolonged disagreement between the twin singers may have caused serious damage to their relationship, despite efforts by some family members to restore peace.
He spoke during an interview with social commentator Jos Connection at the Okoye family’s residence in Plateau State on Friday, where he addressed the latest developments surrounding the long-running dispute among the siblings.
According to Henry, Peter had made attempts to resolve the differences, but he was not confident that the brothers would return to the close relationship they once enjoyed.
“I will be happy for them to come back together, but I don’t think it will happen. Paul was a very kind person,” he said.
Henry appealed to Paul to forgive his twin brother, Peter, and allow the family to move beyond the prolonged disagreement.
He also recalled how Peter allegedly supported him financially during a period when he was hospitalised, urging Paul to remember such gestures and reconsider the continuing rift.
“Peter is trying. I don’t know if Jude used juju on Paul because he was the nicest person in the family before. But the way he changed is surprising,” Henry said.
He further disclosed that there had been disagreements over the management of the family’s affairs and finances, dating back to the period when P-Square began making money from music.
Henry claimed that the siblings had initially agreed to share proceeds from their activities but that their elder brother, Jude Okoye, later became involved in the arrangement.
“They promised me 20 per cent when they start making money. Jude intervened and dismissed that. I challenged him that he wasn’t there when we started everything but now chasing everybody away from them,” he alleged.
He said he had made several efforts to reunite the family, but those attempts had yet to produce the desired result.
According to him, even businessman Shehu Dantata had reportedly intervened in the family dispute, but the disagreements persisted.
Henry also recalled an occasion when Peter directed him to Jude over money he believed was being held on his behalf.
“When Peter’s wife’s dad died, I spoke to them why they left only me in Jos. Peter said I should meet Jude, he’s the one holding my money. I want all the family to come back. I have tried my best,” he said.
He urged Jude to play a constructive role in restoring peace among the siblings and called on all parties to put their differences aside.
The latest development comes against the backdrop of years of disagreement between Peter and Paul, which contributed to the collapse of P-Square in 2017.
The twins later reunited in 2021, giving fans hope that they had resolved their differences. However, the reunion was short-lived as another dispute emerged in 2024.
Peter subsequently raised allegations concerning the management of the group’s finances and accused Jude of being involved in a company he claimed was receiving royalties belonging to P-Square.
Paul, however, defended Jude and maintained that Peter was responsible for the legal difficulties confronting their elder brother.
Jude was later arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over allegations involving N1.38bn, $1m and £34,537.59. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Peter subsequently testified in the case and alleged that Northside Music Limited was incorporated and used to collect royalties belonging to P-Square.
The financial controversy has continued in court. During cross-examination in February 2026, Peter reportedly acknowledged that he was a co-signatory to the Northside Entertainment Limited account, despite an earlier position that Jude was the sole signatory.
With the disagreement continuing to play out publicly and legally, Henry’s latest intervention represents another attempt by a member of the Okoye family to bring the siblings together.
While acknowledging the difficulties surrounding the dispute, Henry said his desire remained to see the family reunited and urged the brothers to forgive one another and end the prolonged conflict.
