SAPELE: Blood Flows As Women Protest Against Coronavirus Lockdown Extension In Delta – The Liberator

There is palpable tension in Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State as security operatives allegedly shot dead a protesting youth who was among the predominantly women protest against the extension of 14 days lockdown in the state to avoid spread of the virus.

However, when calls where put across to Sapele by The Liberator Newspaper on the true state of things, they confirmed that there is heavy protest and a youth was shot dead by security operatives who tried to calm fray nerves.
Nevertheless, there are conflicting reports about the security agency that actually shot dead the protesting youth as some say it was a Police officer as others says the Police was only firing teargas, alleging that it was a Vigilante that gun down the protesting youth.
The protesting women noted that governor Okowa should lift the extension and lock only borders or provide money and foodstuffs to all women in the state, if not they will defy the lockdown order as they are tired of sitting idle at home without food and light to ameliorate their sufferings.
In what appears worrisome to Deltans, the lockdown have claimed two lives without being infected the virus and were killed by security operatives in the state.
