UGOLO-OKPE COMMUNITY PAYS FAMILIARIZATION VISIT TO CEPEJ

Ugolo Community of Okpe Kingdom in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State on Monday paid a familiarization visit to the Headquarters of the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, at Ugolo-Okpe near Osubi Airport, Delta State.

The community’s new President, Mr. Edmund Olomu who led the team said the visit was to introduce the new Ugolo Exco members to the NGO, situated in their community.

He expressed gratitude to CEPEJ’s National Coordinator, Comrade Sheriff Mulade for his unique community relations strategies, and also for fast tracking development in Ugolo community, as many developers and investors have been attracted to the locality by the NGO’s presence, with enormous socio-economic benefits to residents and indigenes

The National Coordinator of CEPEJ, Comrade Sheriff Mulade received the new Ugolo-Okpe Community Executives, accompanied by the immediate past President, Mr Henry Ovo, amongst others.

Comrade Mulade thanked them for the peaceful leadership transition process and enlightened the Ugolo people of the NGO’s functions and activities, as well as the benefits of non-governmental organizations to the society, particularly in Nigeria.

He then advised the new Ugolo Exco members to emulate their immediate predecessors in terms of commitment and good conducts, so as to promote peaceful coexistence between them and their neighbours.

Comrade Sheriff Mulade implored them to create a conducive environment for peace and development, and support Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to enable him deliver the dividends of democracy to the door steps of all Deltans.

He urged them to toe the line of peace so as to attract more development to the community, stressing that there can be no meaning development without sustainable peace.

He assured them of the Center’s ability to take up issues of development with relevant authorities towards finding prompt and lasting solutions to them.
