Bebenimibo celebrates Tompolo’s acquittal, urges FG to return all confiscated properties

As jubilation over the aquittal of the great Niger Delta freedom fighter High Chief Government Ekpemupolo a.k.a. Tompolo continues to gather momentum, Chairman of the Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation (EBF), Comr. Ernest Bebenimibo has added his voice.
The Philanthropist said he is elated with the decision of the Lagos Federal High Court in throwing away all 40 count charges brought before it against Tompolo and others saying it was a welcome development.
Bebenimibo who spoke during an exclusive interview with The Liberator Newspaper on Friday maintained that Tompolo’s aquittal was God’s way of vindicating the revered freedom fighter against the wish of political enemies.
He said ” I and my family and all team members of EBF heartily congratulate high chief on his victory at the Court and equally applaud him for his patience by seeking illegal means to prove his innocence to the whole world.
He described Tompolo as a respected leader, a man of honour and dignity whose effort towards the restoration of peace, progress and development in Ijaw land and the entire Niger Delta region can not be forgotten in a hurry.
He commended the judiary and the presiding Judge of the Lagos Federal high court Justice Ibrahim Buba for living above board by allowing Justice to take its course against all odd.
The EBF chair however advised the federal government to toe the path of honour by returning all properties confiscated from Tomoplo, as well as reverse all his contracts that were terminated and compensate him adequately for losses suffered in his trying times.
The young philanthropist while describing Tompolo as a global peace ambassador stated that the death of Tompolo’s father is credited to the federal government of Nigeria during his political incarceration which led to frequent military invasions of Gbaramatu Kingdom by soldiers who brutalized the aged father of the Niger Delta grand commander of all generals in the struggle for emancipation, leading to his death.
Bebenimibo continued that if Tompolo was not a man of peace, there could have been more unrest in the region following the demise of his father.
