​PDP Chairman Delta South, Takeme Holds Inaugural Meeting With Exco Members

Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Delta South Senatorial District,  Chief (Dr) Julius Takeme (JP) on Wednesday held inaugural meeting with his executive members to brainstorm on the way forward. The Liberator Newspaper can report


The meeting which was massively attended by 15 out of the 18 members constituting the Delta South Senatorial District  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) exco discusses critical issues. 


Dr. Takeme who presided over the meeting had in his opening remark at the Delta South Senatorial PDP Office at Okere Road in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State revealed that the reason behind the meeting was to avail him the opportunity to familiarise himself with all members of the exco. 


Speaking among other issues, Chief Julius Takeme equally used the opportunity to hint members of the exco on the  dos and don’ts of the  party, stressing that even as elections draws closer, exco members must remain neutral and should always be seen as an unbiased umpire. 


He explained that on no account should exco members of the party be seen visibly moving with aspirants during party primaries, adding that all aspirants must be treated equally, stressing that junketing with a particular aspirant during party primaries should not be welcomed at all cost. 


High point of the inaugural meeting was the inauguration of other members of the exco from the various local government areas constituting Delta South Senatorial District. 

However, while stressing on the need to familiarise himself with all members of the exco, Dr. Takeme maintained that they will continue to work closely with stakeholders of the PDP in Delta South Senatorial District and beyond to ensure the continued dominance of the party come 2023 and beyond. 


The Delta South Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman added that if  his predecessors have maintained the dominance of the party over time since 1999 till date, he vowed that the ratio will not change during his tenure. 

He said he had briefed all members of his exco to be more grass root oriented as it is the grass root that have the ultimate power to determine who wins general elections or not.

Meanwhile, Takeme had assured the people of Delta South that his leadership will continue to operate open door policy as he cherishes every member of the party, adding that all hands must be on deck to deliver 2023 to the PDP. 

Speaking on the capacity of his exco members, Dr. Julius noted that his exco members are all competent and strong hands with a firm grass root foundation, stressing that they are tested and trusted leaders in their own rights, adding that he is proud of them as they will together steer the ship to the  promised land. 

In his message to the PDP faithfuls, Chief Takeme appreciated them for their show of love to the party over the years, asserting that His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State is committed in taking youths of the state off the streets. 

The Delta South PDP Chairman said as exco, they will ensure that leaders of the party from the senatorial district are proud of them, stressing that the senatorial district is quite big and great, blessed with great personalities. 

He said it currently has a deputy Governor, a senator, four house of representative members, eight commissioners,  eight local government council Chairmen, eleven state house of assembly members, DESOPADEC ED, Commissioner with others occupying different offices in the Government. 

Takeme stressed that the Governor has lined up several youth empowerment programmes ongoing in the state, pleading that if it has not gotten to some of the youths yet, he appealed to them to be calm as it will definitely get to them. 

He said Governor Okowa is working hard to ensure that he build a better and stronger Delta State, maintaining that the best thing to do is to continue to support the Governor on his well packaged programmes and policies. 

In what appeared to have added more colour to the inaugural meeting was the mobilisation of 7 PDP Local Government Areas women leaders in Delta South to familiarise themselves with the senatorial leadership of the party.

The Delta South PDP Local Government women leaders were mobilised by Chief Mrs. Vero Emmanuel Tangbowei, woman leader of the party in the Delta South Senatorial District. 

The Delta South PDP exco members that attended the inaugural meeting include Chief Julius Takeme, chairman; John Okoroloko, secretary; Barr. Odion Bennard, legal adviser; Dr Macaulay Deinghan, treasurer; Mr Trophy Kirifagha, asst auditor; Mr Stanley Ogbosa, asst secretary; Mr Peter Odin, asst organising secretary; Hon, Isaac Agouna, asst youth leader; Hon, Mike Obaragbi, asst, publicity secretary; Mss, Ezon-ebi Orogun, Ex-officio; Hon, Chief Ekeremere  Eda Florence, asst women leader; Hon, George Guoh, Ex-officio; Comr, Emmanuel G Akpule, Ex-officio; Hon, Avro Ajiroghene Evelyn, asst treasurer.
