A leading Niger Delta  socio cultural group under the aegis of Common Men Assembly (CMA) on Saturday paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Asupa Peter Forteta, member representing Burutu North in the Delta State House of Assembly. The Liberator Newspapers can report.

The Common Men Assembly was led by Its Chairman, Sir Jude Angodideke who presented the special birthday card to the reigning Delta State House of Assembly member in Warri yesterday.

During the presentation of the birthday card to Hon. Asupa Peter Forteta, Jude Angodideke, Chairman Common Men Assembly (CMA) lauded the developmental strides of the lawmaker since his journey into the Delta State politics, describing him as a “talk na do leader”

The CMA leader stressed that though the birthday of the lawmaker is belated, but the group cannot seat idle without making their own contribution in acknowledging him as a leader per excellence.

Angodideke maintained that the special birthday card is a token from them to appreciate the lawmaker for all he has been doing for humanity, adding that Hon. Forteta should not get tired in doing good for humanity, praying that the Lord Almighty shall continue to make way for him.

However, in his swift response, Hon. Asupa appreciated the delegation of the Common Men Assembly for the special birthday card, adding that the true essence of politics is to put smiles on the faces of people via human capital and infrastructural development, adding that he is happy to see members of CMA identifying with him.

Speaking further, Forteta maintained that the youths must brace up to take over  leadership positions, emphasising that they must organized themselves properly to take up such leadership positions, stressing that he is fully ready to see and work for youths to take over the leadership structure of the polity in due time.

While speaking on the importance of criticism in governance under a democratic sense, Asupa stressed that constructive criticism is surely one of the weapons in making Government of any kinds know their flaws for subsequent improvement, stating that youths should rather engage on constructive criticism.

Hon. Asupa noted that he is poised to deliver lasting legacies that will stand the test of time during his reign as member representing the people of Burutu North in the Delta State House of Assembly.

Meanwhile, after the presentation of the special birthday card, Forteta had declared total support for the Common Men Assembly (CMA) whenever they are embarking on any programme.
