Former Niger Delta Freedom Fighter Chief Ebis Moni has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the Sole Admistrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Mr. Effiong Akwa in line with recent court order.

Moni made the call in a press statement made available to newsmen on Saturday a copy of which was made available to the Liberator Newspaper worldwide.

The former freedom Fighter said that with the recent court judgement that invalidated the sole administration of the commission, the federal government should act responsibility by sacking the administrator.

He noted that sole administration is alien to the NDDC act, stating that the act only recognizes a substantive board headed by a chairman.

Recall that a federal high court sitting in Yenogoa the Bayelsa State capital on March 23 granted a perpetual injunction restricting the Federal government from further constituting an interim or sole administration to run the affairs of the NDDC.

Mr Akwa, from Akwa Ibom State, joined the NDDC interim management in December 2020 as a replacement for Ibanga Etang, the then executive director of finance and administration, who died of covid-19.

The presiding judge, Justice Isa Dashen, also granted an exparte order against the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), restraining the federal government from placing the NDDC under any ministry.
