This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the trio of Comr. Tare JamesPresident, NUOS, Comr. Ovie Kingsley, Secretary NUOS and Comr. Akpoke JeremiahPRO NUOS, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide yesterday.

The statement read below:

FROM THE PRESIDENT AND MEMBERSHIP OF NATIONAL UNION OF OBOTEBE STUDENTS (NUOS), LED BY COMR. TARE JAMES
A COURTESY CALL TO ATTEND TO THE ISSUES AFFECTING OBOTEBE SECONDARY SCHOOL.
On the 27th, of July 2022, our attention was drawn to the collapsed of the oldest secondary school building in Obotebe Community due to the result of a heavy downpour.
Mostly, as a student body and the front-runner of all the academic affairs of the community we wish to take our stand on critical issues affecting the management and the fallen  Secondary School building. Not too long we sent a delegation to visit the school authorities and management to verify and confirm that, the school management and the entire school premises is in a critical situation that needs urgent rehabilitation.
The fallen Secondary School building and the replies from the School authorities signifies that the School has been long and presently facing a learning crisis that should be attended to without no limited time. According to our research from a very reliable source was that the School was captured and repeated twice under a project to be carried out in quarter by state government with detailed specification for renovation. But still yet nothing was done.
Academically, the comfort that a student enjoys in the process of learning is a predictive variable that could determine weather a student will be able to consecrate and learn as he should as a Nigerian Student. With pity our riverine Schools have been neglected by our own brothers and leaders with no pity on their faces. Our great Umbi School management is poorly positioned to the chore that suffers different degrees of Lacks such as….
1. RENOVATION OF ALL THE SEVEN (7) SCHOOL BUILDINGS IN THE SCHOOL PREMISES INCLUDING THE FENCE
2. SECURITY
3. CORPS MEMBERS
4. TEACHERS
5. TEACHER’S QUARTERS and LAB FACILITIES
With pity and consent the Student body of National Union Of Obotebe Students (NUOS) wish to call on State Government, our Traditional Leaders, Community Leaders, our Umbi born political office holders, NOUS Stakeholders and Senior Comrades to take immediate effect on the aforementioned categories.
LONG LIVE NUOS! LONG LIVE STUDENT UNIONISM!!LONG LIVE OBOTEBE KINGDOM!!!
