2023: Omo-Agege Has The Best Developmental Blueprint For Ijaws In Delta – Akpodubakaye

A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State and a First Class product of the University of East London, Hon. Jude Akpodubakaye has described the Deputy Senate President and the APC governorship candidate in Delta State, Ovie Omo-Agege as one with the requisite skills that he will make a good leader, saying that his developmental blueprint for Delta State, with particular reference to the riverine/coastal communities cannot be rivaled by any other candidate in the 2023 governorship elections.

Speaking with newsmen in Abuja on Thursday, Hon. (Engr.) Akpodubakaye, who passionately appealed to Deltans, particularly the youths to vote for the current deputy senate president because of his genuine passion for the development of the grassroots as according to him, his administration will benefit the youths more, reiterating that leadership is a skill that can be developed, but that good leaders are molded through diverse experiences, which the Deputy Senate President and governorship candidate of the APC in Delta State has.

He cited the several development initiatives in the areas of power, education, health, Information Communication and Technology (ICT), agriculture and human capacity development which have endeared the people of the state to him, adding that the Deputy Senate President’s integrity, self-awareness, courage, respect, empathy and gratitude is unparalleled.

Hon. Akpodubakaye said the Deputy Senate President who is contesting for governorship of the Delta State is agile and influential having good communication skills, the ability and charisma to delegate powers effectively to subordinates, informing that Ovie Omo-Agege has also touched so many lives at the grassroots within his period at upper legislative chamber.

He went further to enumerated the establishment of a Federal Polytechnic at Orugun, replacement of overloaded and obsolete transformers in several communities and renovation of classroom blocks across his Senatorial District, including upgrate of health facilities, construction of landing jetties, shore protections, among other people-oriented infrastructural projects across wards and communities in his Senatorial District.

Hon. Akpodubakaye maintained that with Deputy Senate President, when eventually elected as the next governor of Delta State will increase investor’s confidence and attract sustainable growth and development across the nooks and cronies of the state, bearing in mind that Ovie Omo-Agege has touched the lives of the grassroots as Deputy Senate President of the eighth Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

It will be recalled that Senator Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege CFR, (born 3 August 1963) is a Nigerian lawyer and politician who is currently the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate and the flag bearer of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He is representing the Delta State Central Senatorial District at the Nigerian senate. He was first elected in 2015 into the 8th senate.

Omo-Agege hails from Orogun clan of the Urhobo ethnic group in Ughelli North local Government area of Delta State. He emerged the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate of the 9th National Assembly on 11 June 2019, after he defeated his rival, Ike Ekweremadu with a margin of 31 votes to win the second leadership position of the National Assembly.
