BREAKING: Joemarine Institute Gets NBTE Approval, Interim Accreditation Of Programmes

There has been wide jubilation across the Niger Delta region, particularly Delta State, Warri following news of approval for the establishment of Joemarine Institute of Nautical Studies and Research Effurun, Delta State by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) in Nigeria.
According to Mr. Akpos Epidei, Managing Director (MD) of Joemarine Institute of Nautical Studies and Research who hinted The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide on the latest development noted that the Institution has also gotten an Interim Accreditation to run some programmes from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE ).
However, in the approval letter sighted by The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide yesterday, signed by Prof. Idris M. Bugaje, Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE ) dated January 9th 2023 on behalf of the Honourable Minister of Education and the entire board, the letter maintained that the approval takes immediate effect from 29th of December 2022.
The approval letter reads in part “I refer to the application and subsequent approval /resources inspection visit to Joemarine Institute of Nautical Studies and Research Effurun, Delta State. I hereby convey the approval of the Honourable Minister of Education to establish the Institution in line with the provision of Act CAP E3 LFN 2004 with effect from 29th December, 2022.
“The Board has also approved Interim accreditation for the following academic programmes and number of streams for take-off of the Institution.
1 ND Computer Science
2 ND Nautical Science
3 ND Marine Transport and Business studies
4 ND Marine Meteorology and Coastal Management
