A group of angry Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders under the aegis of aggrieved Delta Ijaw PDP members across all Ijaw speaking Local Government Areas in Delta State have again written His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to as a matter of urgency fulfil his promise made to them on the 3rd of October 2019 at Government House, Asaba.

This was contained in a statement signed by Chief Richard Enaredei JP, former vice chairman of Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State and Hon. Michael Oweikpodor on behalf of the group after an emergency meeting held in Warri recently. The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report.

The group had in the statement narrated that they are strong hands of PDP at their various wards and Local Government Areas in Delta State, stressing that despite their contributions toward the growth and development of the party during and after elections, they have been neglected and relegated for too long from the scheme of things.

The duo of Chief Richard and Hon. Michael had in the statement narrated that due to the alleged unmerited negligence from the Government and various party leaders over time meted out on them, they registered their grievances via different fora using Chief Frank Omare and several notable Ijaw PDP leaders to engage the Governor of Delta State who is now the PDP vice Presidential candidate of the party, regretting that since 2019 till date, nothing reasonable has come out.

The group noted that due to the political negligence meted out on members of the group, some of them have already decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, stressing that while they have not decided to decamp to any political party yet in the state, the group had urged the Governor of Delta State to do the needful by giving them appointments, adding that since 2015 till now, they have done nothing but to support Okowa and the PDP in every elections.

The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report that Amb. Dibi Yinkore, a notable PDP henchman in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State is also a member of the group.

The duo had continued that despite the Governor recognising others who did not work as much as they do during the elections, their story on the part of the Government is completely nothing to write home about without any form of recognition, describing the situation as pitiable.

“We are also human beings with blood flowing in our veins, even the almighty knows that we have tried our best for PDP over the years, we are beginning to believe that the party is not ready to accommodate us and the Governor despite his promises has not been able to fulfil his promise.” The statement added.

Nevertheless, the group expressed shock that years have passed yet nothing has come out from the promise of the Governor and their meetings with him, stressing that they have been constrained as all available means of reaching out to the Governor has been cut off hence they are using this medium to reach the Governor once again for urgent attention to address their matter as it has lingered for too long.

Meanwhile, the group had expressed disappointment over the way they have been dribbled and manipulated politically, adding that it is only normal for someone to benefit from a party he or she had worked for, stressing that they can’t continue to be left out of the Government despite their contributions
