A body operating under the auspices of G14 Group of Diebiri in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State on Friday reminded His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State to remember the people of Diebiri in the constitution of the new Delta state Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) board.
This was contained in an open letter signed by General Abissco Dally Matthew Ogbowei, leader of G14 Group of Diebiri, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide yesterday.
The letter read in full below:
His Excellency,
Sen.(Dr) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa,
Executive Governor,
Delta State.
First, we the G14 members wish to congratulate you on the general elections that successfully ended in favour of our party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). One thing is to rule your tenure successfully and another is to hand over to a successor from your party.
We deemed it necessary to remind you once again of the DIEBIRI’S case with regards to the constitution of the board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission. Being 5th on the hierarchy of largest Oil producers in the Ijaw Ethnic nationality in the State, you will recall that we were supposed to produce a member when the just dissolved, Hon. Michael Diden led board was constituted. It was our turn because the first to fourth largest Oil producers in the Ijaw extraction of the State( Ogulagha, Gbaramatu, Egbema and Ogbe-ijoh Kingdoms) have all enjoyed it successfully when it was their turn. But when it was the turn of the Diebiri people, we were shortchanged and robbed of it in a broad daylight. We protested our omission. In your wealth of knowledge you called for a meeting and addressed the the Diebiri people that it will be corrected when the next board will be constituted.
Your Excellency, the Diebiri People are pleading with you and in same vein counting you to make it right for them now that a new board is about to be constituted.
What is good for the goose is also good for gander.
Yours Sincerely.
G14 Group of Diebiri. Sign by General abissco Dally Matthew Ogbowei
