The Family of late Apostle Aaron BEBENIMIBO on May 2nd marked the 20th year of remembrance of his demise alongside other fallen heroes of the NIGER DELTA struggle. The family yesterday in their home town Okerenkoko federated Community, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West LGA held a rally and lecture to mark the historical moment.

Family, friends and associates from all works of life and from all over the nation poured their encomiums on Apostle Aaron BEBENIMIBO fondly called The Bull of the NIGER DELTA and all other heroes of the struggle both dead and alive.

The family took the medium to speak to the youths of the Niger Delta region to respect the sacrifices of the heros of the struggle by consolidating on the ideals of the struggle. According to them the new mode of agitation is through pen and skills, gone are the days of agitation by arms. All Youths in the Niger Delta should either get a degree or get a skill. This is the new way to seek relevance in the scheme of things. The region will now employ very vibrant and robust intellectual engagement of government to ensure that the dividends of democracy due to the region is never denied them.

A living HERO and Comrade in the struggle Apostle Johnny in his tribute to the fallen hero highlighted key roles played by Apostle Aaron BEBENIMIBO in the liberation of the Niger Delta people from exclusion, oppression and environmental hazards. He closed by saying that though it’s not uhuru yet but we can say we have come a long way from where we used to be.

The high point of the event was the formal presentation of a book abstract in honor of Apostle Aaron BEBENIMIBO and the other heros of the NIGER DELTA struggle titled THE GREATNESS JOURNEY OF THE NIGER DELTA; LIFE APPLICABLE LESSONS FROM THE TIMES AND LIFE OF APOSTLE AARON BEBENIMIBO.
