A United Niger Delta, Ijaw Nation, Panacea For Our Development – Lawuru

A prominent and highly revered Chief in the Niger Delta region, particularly from the Ijaw ethnic nationality, High Chief Promise Lawuru, popularly known as the Ozigizaga of the universe has stated that a peaceful and united Niger Delta cum Ijaw nation is panacea for the region’s development. The renowned Niger Delta philanthropist made the call in Abuja recently while hosting some Niger Delta Youths that had visited him to brainstorm on the wayforward.
Chief Promise Lawuru had called on all critical stakeholders in Niger Delta, particularly from the Ijaw ethnic nationality to always speak in one voice.
Lawuru noted that a divided house cannot stand, stressing that the strength of the Ijaws will lie on its unity as a people.
He continued that as a people in the Nigerian State, he is aware that over the years, the Ijaws are yet to get any commensurate benefit from the Nigerian State despite contributing massively to the economic and political stability of the country.
Speaking further, the Niger Delta prominent Chief had expressed optimism that the Bola Tinubu Presidency will surely benefit the Niger Delta and the Ijaw people.
Meanwhile, he had advocated that the Ijaws should speak in one voice in their demand for justice, fairness and equity.
