The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide yesterday Stormed Arogbo Kingdom in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo state to celebrate its annual Arogbo Ibe Day celebration.

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide delegation was led by the Deputy President of Council, Comr. Freedom Atigbi who was accompanied by Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill, Spokesman Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Comr. Olu Deremo, Secretary IYC, Western Zone, Mr. Abednego Opere, Treasurer of IYC, Western Zone.

Others in the entourage include Comr. Samuel Ebiarede, Chairman IYC Ogulagha Kingdom, Chief Don Ben, Chief Ben Bowei, Comr. Albert Friday, Chairman IYC Apoi Kingdom as well as the Arogbo Kingdom IYC Chairman that gallantly played host to the IYC national delegation.

Addressing the press at Arogbo, the Deputy President of Council, Comr. Freedom Atigbi noted that the President of IYC Worldwide, Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr, would have loved to personally grace the occasion but due to other pressing engagements he was unable to grace the occasion hence he sent the powerful delegation to represent the 9th NEC led by Freedom Atigbi.

Atigbi asserted that the IYC is pleased to grace the occasion seeing the level of unity displayed by different Kings of Ijaw Nation from their different kingdoms .

The Deputy President of council had assured the people of Arogbo to always prioritise the unity of Ijaw Nation using every available means. He said this is in line with the vision and agenda of the President Jonathan Lokpobiri led administration of council.

However, Freedom had called on the Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to urgently commence the Agadagba to Arogbo bridge, stressing that the bridge if completed will be so important to the Ijaw people in Arogbo Kingdom, Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo state.

Atigbi maintained that council will continue to support programmes and activities of Ijaw kingdoms across board.

IYC is excited over Kuku’s return – Spokesman Binebai

Reacting to the annual Arogbo Ibe Day celebration in Arogbo yesterday, Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill, Spokesman Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) stated that Council and the Ijaw people are particularly happy over the return of Hon. Kingsley Kuku, former Spokesman of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide and a highly revered leader in council. According to Princewill, the Ijaw Youth Council and the Ijaw people have greatly missed Kuku in the past years, stressing that Kuku’s developmental strides in Niger Delta and contribution towards the growth and development of council can never be forgotten.

Princewill had assured the Ijaw people that the 9th NEC led by Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr will do its best in dealing with the multifaceted issues bedeviling the Ijaw nation in recent times, stressing that council under Lokpobiri will consolidate on the gains recorded by past leaders and improve on it.
