Ahead of the Delta State’s local government councils election scheduled for 2024, the All Progressives Congress, APC chairmanship aspirant in Warri South-West Local Government Area of the State, Amb. Comr. Mamamu Bene Youkore, has made public his plans to dislodge the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the Local Council.


Bene, popularly known as ‘the young chief’, while speaking during a consultative meeting with APC leaders in Ogbe-Ijoh, headquarters of the oil-rich Warri South-West Local Government Area, affirmed that he has gotten all that it takes to dislodge the stronghold of the PDP and change the narrative in Warri South-West LGA.

He formally declared his interest for the chairmanship seat before the party leaders in Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Federal Ward 1 under the leadership of Prince Ese Benebode, noting that the Chairmanship Election will not be business as usual as, according to him, APC is the solution to problems facing the electorate from local government to the state level.



Bene said that he seeks the support of the people of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom saying he is aspiring to become the LGA chairman to bring dividends of democracy to the grassroots.

He further stated that he is contesting for the seat because he feels the pain of his people and aims at changing the narrative for the good of everyone including the generation yet unborn.

He said, “I am ready to take the leadership of the Local Government, I have declared today, I want to take it without fail.

“I am feeling the pain of my people, and that is why I am coming. I want to make sure democracy comes down to the grassroots. Let the people benefit from the dividends of democracy.”

Bene Mamamu who was accompanied by the councilor in Warri South-West, Hon. Company Yerinbowei Felix and a host of other dignitaries was received in audience by the Party Ward 1 Chairman, Prince Ese Benebode, Mrs. Vivian Ogisi, Godwin Okoki Leader in the party, Young Elder Peter Mozimor, (AKA Lion of Ogbe-Ijoh), Sylvester Aniyanghan, Party Unit Leaders and host of others.

Speaking, Prince Benebode encouraged him to be sure and hopeful of victory noting that the chairmanship position is zoned to Ogbe-Ijoh, people.

“The battle is ours alone, No Itsekiri person will contest this election. We have a better chance to win”, Benebode stated.
