Agediga, Angele, Oyibode, Amafini, Others Storm Sokebolou To Inaugurate NYCN Ward 11 Exco

For the people of ward 11 in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, on Saturday the 29th of October 2022 will be a day to always remember as men that matters in the society stormed the oil rich community of Sokebolou in Ogulagha Kingdom to inaugurate the ward 11 structure of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN). Prominent among leaders that graced the inauguration ceremony yesterday include Amb. Dr. Comr. Shedrack Agediga, Executive Director (ED), Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS), Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Rt. Hon. Godknows Angele, Chairman, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Chief Vincent Oyibode, Commissioner representing Ughelli South, Uvwie and Udu Local Government Areas on the board of (DESOPADEC), Hon. Akemeotubo Amafini, a high ranking aide to the deputy Governor of Delta State, leaders of the Delta State Ijaw Comrade Community and others too numerous to mention. 

In his speech shortly after the inauguration ceremony, Amb. Dr. Comr. Shedrack Agediga, Executive Director (ED), Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS), Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) particularly tasked the Comr. Blessing Towei led ward 11 exco to be upright by delivering quality service.

Dr. Agediga noted that the new leadership of ward 11 National Youth Council of Nigeria must know that it is purely a volunteer service. 

“The responsibility you have taken today is a volunteer service, first you need to be articulate and serve before reward. We know you that you have been trained. You have to coordinate yourself properly to render equality service. I am very optimistic that you are going to do well. I really appreciate everyone for coming. ” Agediga added. 

On his part, Rt. Hon. Godknows Angele, Chairman, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State had tasked Comr. Towei Blessing to operate an open door policy, stressing that he should not use his office to insult leaders on social media, adding that constructive criticism is good but ranting and insulting leaders on social media should be avoided. 

In his words: “I have to honour the invitation because Agediga is no doubt a good man. Anything concerning him is a good thing. I charge the ward 11 NYCN to have regular meetings with your people. You  have to be loyal and be humble. It is people that will discuss your matter and not you that will discuss your matter. Don’t  attack leaders on social media without facts with the sole intention of insulting them. We will be having meeting in Burutu once every month. Once again congratulations.”  Angele stated. 

Speaking further, Angele had promised to complete ongoing health centre in Ogulagha and another local government project in Obotobo, all in Ogulagha Kingdom,  Burutu Local Government Area within the shortest possible time. 

On his part,  Chief Hon. Vincent Oyibode,Commissioner representing Ughelli South, Uvwie and Udu Local Government Areas on the board of (DESOPADEC) said ” I want to laud Hon. Godknows Angele, Chairman of Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State for making himself available to grace the inauguration ceremony. The eloquent nature of Towei during his acceptance speech has overwhelmed me. I Plead with everyone to give him the needed  support to succeed. Be democratic in your dealings, carry everyone along, don’t be a sole administrator.” 

However, Hon. Akemeotubo Amafini had charged the coordinator of the ward 11 exco, Comr. Blessing Towei to always be focused in doing the right thing only, stressing that it is only his doing the right thing that will make him excel, adding that leadership is a gradual process. 

It would be recalled that the oath of office was administered to the new exco of ward 11 by Comr. Suowari Edinini, Chairman NYCN, Burutu Local Government Chapter at the Sokebolou community town hall while the certificates of return were  presented to the exco members by the Burutu Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Godknows Angele. 

The acceptance speech delivered by Comr. Blessing Towei on behalf of the ward 11 exco reads below:

“I am immensely grateful to God who has preserved us to witness this day and this great epoch-making occasion. Today marks the inauguration of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ward 11, Burutu L.G.A, Delta State, Nigeria.

“On behalf of myself and my executive members, we appreciate and acknowledge the presence of everyone present here today, we say may God Almighty bless you all in Jesus name. I especially welcome my family and friends who have travelled here to witness this day. I want to use this opportunity to thank the Youth Chairman, Burutu L.G.A: Mr. Edinini Suowari John for making sure this memorable event takes place in a manner that it will never be forgotten in a hurry. 

“I also want to say special thanks Rt. Hon. Julius .G. Pondi member representing the good people of Burutu in the house of representatives Abuja, the Chairman Burutu L.G.A Rt. Hon. Godknows Angele and the Executive Director PRS Desopadec, Ambassador Shedrack Lucky Agediga for their immense support and encouragement. I am honoured and privileged to be given the opportunity to serve in the capacity of the youth coordinator of this great ward.

“In conclusion, I am promising the good people of ward 11 that we will serve to the best of our ability and lend our full support whenever needed.

“I will not end this speech of mine without recognizing my spiritual father REV. CHAPLAIN EMMANUEL EMUOBOSA IGHOKARO. May the good Lord Almighty bless and continue to strengthen you for your good works and may He grant you all who travelled here to witness this occasion a safe journey back to your various destinations.”
