A foremost group in Niger Delta, operating under the auspices of Niger Delta Youth Council (NDYC) on Friday condemned the killing of two Ijaw Indigenes in Toru-Angiama forest by suspected Fulani Herdsmen in Patani Local Government Area of Delta State recently.

The revered group issued the statement yesterday in Warri signed by the duo of Amb. Comr. Mamamu Bene Youkore, President of the Niger Delta Youth Council and Comr. Shadrach Onitsha Ebikeme, Secretary of the group, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide.

However, the Niger Delta Youth Council had sounded a note of warning to Fulani Herdsmen residing in the Niger Delta territory to desist from such dastardly act, stressing that such inimical act is capable of threatening the fragile peace in the region when people fight back.

Speaking further, the duo had commiserated with the families of the deceased to take heart, describing the event as unfortunate and painful, stressing that it is a great loss to the Ijaws and Niger Deltans.

Nevertheless, the Niger Delta Youth Council had called on the Federal government of Nigeria, Delta State Government and security agencies to swing into action by bringing the pertrators to book.

The duo of Mamamu and Onitsha had in the statement charged the Government and security agencies to live up to the expectations of Nigerians by protecting the lives of Nigerians from such fellows.

Meanwhile, the Niger Delta Youth Council have lauded groups like the Ijaw Youth Council, Delta Ijaw Comrade Community, the Ijaw People’s Development Innitiative (IPDI) and others that have spoken on the matter so far.
