Ijaw Comrade Community Writes Oborevwori, Wants Agediga To Be Given Bigger Appointment

Umbrella body covering all Ijaw human rights activist in Delta State under the auspices of Delta Ijaw Comrade Community (DICC) have written Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor Elect, Delta State on the need to consider Amb. Dr. Shedrack Agediga, former Executive Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) with a bigger political appointment when sworn in as Governor of the state.

This was contained in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Warri by Amb. Comr. Binebai Yerin Princewill, President general Delta Ijaw Comrade Community (DICC), a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide.

The Delta Ijaw Comrade Community had in the statement noted that Amb. Dr. Shedrack Agediga is one distinguished politician in Delta State that have truly delivered as a politician with his political offices that he has been appointed into by the Okowa led administration in Delta State.

According to them, Agediga as a former Executive Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) was able to use his good office to influence a lot of Development to the Ijaw Areas in Delta state.

Adding that he is smart, intelligent and competent to man any bigger office that will be given to him, stressing that he is from a major oil producing kingdom, Ogulagha in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.

Speaking further, Binebai asserted that Agediga also invested heavily on human capacity building by organising programmes to assist younger ones with self development skills and what have you.

However, it is no longer a news that Agediga had continued to render a lot of financial supports to younger ones to better their lives, adding that people like Agediga should continue to be in power to make life meaningful for the people.

Nevertheless, Princewill stressed that one of the good things that ever happened to the Ijaw people in Delta State particularly in the Okowa’s administration was Shedrack Agediga, stressing that he was not only accessible but was like a pillar to the Ijaw people and beyond.

Meanwhile, let it be known that the Delta Ijaw Comrade Community is not a political group but a socio-cultural pressure group that will continue to advocate for a better Ijaw nation.

“It is on this premise that we are informing the incoming Governor of Delta State to take this recommendation of Agediga very serious as he has clearly demonstrated his good leadership qualities before the Ijaw people. He is a man the Ijaw people are proud of.
