Climate Change: IYC 9th NEC Embark On Foreign Trip To Press Forward Ijaw Demands

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide has on Sunday 12th of November 2023 embarked on an historic visit to other countries to press forward the Ijaw demands in International Conferences.
The leadership of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide led by its President, Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr is expected to spend days in Ghana to attend a climate reality project conference and will proceed from Ghana to Kenya where some of the council leaders will attend other International Conference on plastic waste management.
However, addressing the press before departing Lagos for Ghana, Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill, Spokesman of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide explained yesterday that the trip is important to reposition council in a more global perspective.
Binebai maintained that the vision of the 9th NEC led by Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr as President will do a lot for council and Ijaw nation in general.
Speaking in Ghana after the powerful global lecture delivered by His Excellency, Albert Arnold Gore, former President of the United States of America on Climate Reality Project today at the Accra International Conference, Ghana.
Princewill asserted that with the latest move by President Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr in bringing over 20 Ijaw Youths drawn from the 9th NEC leadership, Zonal and chapter leaders, leaders of parliament as well as other critical stakeholders of council to Ghana to attend the Climate Reality Leadership Training, Jonathan Lokpobiri and the 9th NEC has made glowing history in council.
Speaking further, the Spokesman of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill had called on Ijaws to continue to throw their weight behind Lokpobiri and the 9th NEC, stressing that the Conference is not for showmanship but to be equipped intellectually and using such knowledge to press forward the Ijaw and Niger Delta issues on a global space.
“IYC under Jonathan Lokpobiri and the 9th NEC will not only operate in Nigeria, we will use every available opportunity to tell the battered Ijaw story of political strangulation in Nigeria.” Binebai Yerin Princewill added.
According Binebai, he said Lokpobiri as President of council that is working in tandem with the 9th NEC and the Ijaw people believes so much in building the intellectual capacity of Ijaw Youths in order to be intellectually equipped for the task ahead.
