Ijaw Female Activist Writes Delta Ijaw Lawmakers For Speedy Presentation Of CADA Bill
…Says time is running out

Renowned Ijaw female activist, Mss Brubor Torkere has called on Ijaw lawmakers in the Delta State House of Assembly to as a matter of urgency speed up the process of presenting the Coastal Areas Development Agency Bill (CADA).
Mss Brubor Torkere who is the national woman leader of the Ijaw People Network for Nonviolence, Security and Development made the call via a statement issued to newsmen in Warri earlier today, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers.
The statement had maintained that the delay in presenting the Bill before the house for legislative scrutiny is becoming a subject of great concern as time is not on the side of the Ijaws in the political dispensation.
The female activist noted that there has to be one step at a time, stressing that she believes that His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa will not waste time in ascenting to the Bill.
Brubor stated that those living in the coastal areas of Delta State remains the worse hit people of underdevelopment of any kinds, adding that the actualization of CADA will greatly ameliorate the age long political sufferings of the people.
Speaking further, Torkere said the lawmakers from Coastal Area of Delta State must not politicise the CADA Bill, maintaining that the actualization of the Bill will give birth to improved development in the area, better living condition of the people, employment opportunities and many other positive things.
While stressing on the need why CADA must not go through much debate either in the house or the state Executive Council, the woman leader said there is already Warri, Uvwie and Environs Development Agency and the Delta Asaba Capital Territory Development Agencies created by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa after undergoing legislative processes, maintaining that CADA must not be an exception.
Torkere said CADA cannot be different from other similar agencies as it would mean a lot to the coastal communities and her people in the state, adding that some of these places are the largest producers of oil in the state hence compensating them for the many years of unrequited oil revenues with CADA remains the best thing to do.
