Delta Ijaw Comrade Community Picks Chief Bobo As Patron, Sets 2021 Agenda

A group operating under the aegis of Delta Ijaw Comrade Community has recently picked a prominent Ijaw leader, Chief Wellington Bobo as its patron. The Liberator Newspapers can report.
According to Comr. Williams Welemu Jnr, acting chairman of the Delta Ijaw Comrade Community had before the unanimous endorsement of Chief Bobo as the group’s patron described Chief Wellington as a rare human specie.
He said his penchant love for Ijaw nation coupled with his apolitical stance in defending critical issues affecting the ethnic nationality and many more of his humanitarian activities earned the revered elder the rare position as patron of the Delta Ijaw Comrade Community (DICC).
However, prior to Bobo’s patronship, Welemu had in his opening remark during the well attended meeting stressed on the need for the Ijaw Comrades in Delta State to meet in order to set up an agenda to be backed with consultative visits to critical stakeholders to press forward matters that are affecting the Ijaw ethnic nationality in Deita State and beyond.
Welemu asserted that the meeting have become necessary as the decisions reached and topical issues discussed will form the agenda which will be seen as a working document in engaging critical stakeholders in the polity in the proposed DICC consultative visits.
Some of the topical issues discussed during the meeting include the urgent presentation of the Coastal Areas Development Agency Bill (CADA), completion of the long overdue Ayakoromo bridge, proper funding and development of the Delta State School of Marine Technology, Burutu (DESOMATECH), lack of teachers in our rural primary and secondary schools, Okerenkoko floating dock yard, completion of Ofunama-Udo road in Egbema Kingdom, the need to key into the Delta State Comrade Community with the host of other issues.
Meanwhile, Comr. Preye Tambou was made head of the secretariat to be assisted by Comr. Uduboh with others that are yet to be nominated.
The DICC Chairman had assured the Comrade Community that he is ready to take the organisation to an enviable level, stressing that with love and unity, the group will soon be an envy to everyone in the state.
It would be recalled that the meeting was well attended by comrades from Burutu Local Government, Bomadi, Patani, Warri South West, Warri South and Warri North Local Government Areas of Delta State.
